SouthEast is committed to the values of cooperation, voluntary membership, democratic control, autonomy & independence, co-op education and cooperation between co-ops.

X2014santa2SouthEast staff member Dale Carroll has sent this dispatch about the SouthEast XMAS Party at Healesville Sanctuary on Sunday 7 December 2014: "Not sure of the exact numbers but a quick head count suggested there was well in excess of 80 overall attending from 11 am to 3 pm. One of the volunteers, Brendan who just turned 21, did some other photography work. The face painting, Xmas craft work, food, gifts and hampers and friendship was outstanding. The catering staff gave great service. The sanctuary has really improved over the last two years. The fire was welcome and the rain held of most of the time with it being just a sprinkle. All the kids of all ages from little ones to young teens were well behaved and even the older young teens were impressed with the presents. The board and volunteers worked hard and the spirit of cooperation was very noticeable as all worked together to make the day a great success. Thanks Greg for the stubby and Joanne for the wine. Gina and many others enjoyed the Koalas and the birds of prey exhibition and did I say at the food was great. Thick juicy steaks, rissoles and connoisseur sausages with beautiful salads and the strawberry and cream cups with the crunchy pavlova pieces or was it toffee and loads of Magnum icy poles were smashing. All that then home by 4 pm to join in another family celebration with fresh home cooked brownies a cuppa and babies all round again." The picture shows a star of the day - Santa with fans.
