Mission

Our mission is to provide affordable, secure, financially and environmentally sustainable housing for people on low incomes, primarily in the South and East of Melbourne who are committed to cooperative democracy and engagement.

Services

The services provided by SouthEast define its reality as a housing co-op. SouthEast commits to ensuring its long term capacity to continuous improvement of all services.

Members

Members own and control their co-op and this is the essential characteristic of SouthEast. The board represents the members best through its obligation to be representative, accountable and transparent.

Co-operation

SouthEast is committed to the values of cooperation, voluntary membership, democratic control, autonomy & independence, co-op education and cooperation between co-ops.

The SEHC board has nine directors — seven member directors and two independent directors. Directors serve three year terms. Member directors are elected at the AGM and the two independent directors are appointed by the board.

Jan Dickson

Member of the Governace committee and a member of the co-operative since 2001 and a Member Director since 2011. Previously served on the board 2002-2005. Read Jan's contribution to Co-operators.

Debbie Dioguardi

Debbie Dioguardi

Secretary and member of the Finance, Audit and Risk committee. A co-operative member since 2004 and a Member Director since 2011. Debbie has a Level 2 First Aid Certificate, a certificate in book keeping to trial balance and has managed a team for a party planning company.

Shirleynew

Shirley Faram

Member of the Governance committee, and a Member Director. Previously, Shirley served five years as Secretary of Frankston Council's Good Neighbour Program and was for four years a board member and worker with the Bayside Youth Housing project. Read Shirley's contribution to Co-operators.


stevengrange3 Steven Grange

A Non Member Director since 2014 and the chairperson of the Finance, Audit and Risk committee. Steven has worked for, First Option Credit Union, a $160M credit union with 10,000 members across Australia and his role is as a Business Development Manger Steven has spent 35 years in co-operative experience working for industry based credit unions. Other roles Steven has filled include: Director: Kyneton Community Co-operative from 1983 – 1987 - Director/Chairman: Reservoir Fawkner Credit Co-operative from 1990 - 1997 Industry Training: Director training via AICUD – Australian Institute Credit Union Directors Tertiary Qualifications: Diploma in Marketing: Hawthorn Institute of Technology, 1990
 Natalie March 2017

Natalie has been a SouthEast member since 2001. Natalie joined a tenant selection task group at Ringwood/Croydon and was a Member Director from 2002 – 2006. From 2010 to 2014 Natalie served on SouthEast committees as director in a variety of roles including, Finance Director, Policy Director and as the SouthEast Secretary.

Natalie has worked in the Not for Profit sector for many years including Baptcare and Eastern Access Community Health. Natalie has also been employed in Staff Development and Training, Accounting, Project Management, Public Relations, and, Administration and Management. Natalie is qualified with an Advanced Diploma of Business (HRM) and has studied Occupational Health and Safety.

Steve Kropf

Member of the Finance Audit and Risk committee and a Non Member Director since 20 November 2009 with a MBA, BBus BA, FCPA, over twenty years experience in senior commercial management roles including CFO, GM Finance and planning roles through a range of companies covering transport and logistics, tourism, government privatisations and pharmaceuticals. Currently owner and manager of two companies both in the service sector.

Gayle Koubwere

Member of the Governace committee and a SouthEast member for many years and a director since November 2013. She was previously a member of the Oakleigh Rental Housing Co-operative between 1992 and 1996.

Andrea Lee

Andrea Lee

Board Chairperson since 2014 and the Governance Chiarperson and a member since 2001 and Member Director since 28 January 2011. Secretary, Policy Convenor 2011 - 12, Secretary 2012 - 2014. Previously served on the board in 2005/2006. Andrea has a Bachelor of Business Accounting and Management. An accountant - seven years in Business Services. Greg Nolan Greg Nolan

Member of the Governance committee and a co-operative member since 2004, and previously a Moorabbin Rental Housing Co-op (RHC)  tenant-member since October, 1989.  Secretary of the board from 2014 til 2016. Served on Moorabbin RHC Steering Committee (Board) in late 1990’s and early 2000’s, including once as a Vice-Chair. Life and work experiences have been in music education, public transport, horticulture  and aged and disability care as both a part-time worker and volunteer.
