After the SouthEast board meeting on the 29 June 2012, the SouthEast General Manager, Ian McLaren, said it was pleasing that 94.3% of members had now completed their rent review forms.
He said it was disappointing, however, that about 50 members had not met the 16 April 2012 and that at the 29 June 2012 there were still 5.7% of the members who had not submitted their forms.
He said that from 1 July 2012 SouthEast would have to charge the tenants who had not submitted forms market-based rents. "This is unfortunate if these members are subsequently proven to be eligible for a subsidised rent. It is inconvenient for the tenant and SouthEast."
"There is a clear responsibility to provide the right information at the right time."
